1. Billing Structure
Complimentary Protective Materials (Local & Long Distance)
World’s Best Movers provides complimentary protective coverings for furniture and other large items on all local and long-distance relocations. This includes moving blankets, shrink wrap, tape, and cartons suitable for televisions and fragile items.
Blankets must be removed at delivery. If items are delivered to a location where movers cannot remove protective coverings or retrieve blankets, blankets will not be supplied unless the client purchases or rents them.
Rental blankets are available exclusively for local relocations and are not provided at storage facilities, garages, warehouses, PODS, shipping containers, or similar locations.
World’s Best Movers reserves the right to revise billing statements or apply additional charges if the client requests changes to the scope of work, including (but not limited to) adding items, changing destinations for long-distance moves, delaying delivery dates, or requesting additional services.
Local Move Pricing
- Local move pricing is based on the tariffs provided by World’s Best Movers Inc., which may be updated as needed.
- Charges do not include travel time to or from the customer’s residence.
- Billing begins when work starts at the initial location and ends immediately upon completion at the final destination.
- Complimentary packing services and materials are provided when the company performs unpacking.
- If the client retains boxes at delivery, the client will be billed according to company tariffs.
Long-Distance Pricing
- Pricing is based on the volume occupied (cubic feet, ft³) plus a 10% fuel surcharge.
- Packing materials and boxes are billed per tariffs if packing is requested.
- Additional charges may apply for stairs, long carries, heavy/bulky items, or difficult transports.
- Shuttle service fees may apply if truck access is restricted for any reason.
2. Deposit Policy
- Local relocations: $50 nonrefundable deposit (credited toward the total bill).
- Long-distance moves: 10% of the estimated total cost is required as a nonrefundable deposit.
3. Payment Terms
- We accept credit/debit cards. A 5% merchant transaction fee applies to card payments.
- All card payments must be made by the customer. A valid state ID matching the card name is required and may be copied for verification.
- Cards issued to individuals other than the account holder will not be accepted.
- Credit card payments cannot be processed on delivery day if delivery is outside Illinois.
- We also accept Zelle, cash, money orders, or certified checks issued directly by a bank.
- Unpaid balances may be subject to additional late fees and collection efforts.
4. Cancellation Policy
- Cancellations must be submitted at least 24 hours before the scheduled move to avoid a cancellation fee.
- Same-day cancellations incur a fee equal to three (3) hours of the agreed hourly rate.
- We may refuse service for moves that are hazardous, unsafe, discriminatory, disrespectful, dangerous, or unsanitary.
5. Customer Responsibilities
- Customers must read and understand all moving-related documents throughout the process.
- Customers must provide accurate information and promptly notify the mover of changes or special circumstances.
- Customers must ensure accessibility, clear pathways, safe and clean working conditions, and arrange parking.
- All furniture should be emptied; customer-packed boxes must be sealed and should not exceed 75 lbs for large/dish-pack boxes.
- The customer (or a designated representative age 18+) must be present at pickup and delivery.
- Payment must be made at delivery before unloading.
- Customer must conduct a final walkthrough of the residence and truck to confirm all items are accounted for.
- If payment is not received upon arrival, the move will pause; the customer is responsible for waiting time and additional charges.
- Customer agrees to cover storage fees and costs associated with rescheduling a new delivery date.
- World’s Best Movers may pursue service theft charges if payment is not made.
- Valuables (cash, jewelry, art, etc.) must be disclosed in advance due to insurance requirements; undisclosed valuables release the company from liability.
- Customers must not pack firearms, ammunition, explosives, illegal substances, food, or illegal items.
- We may refuse to move live plants, chemical containers, open containers, or hazardous materials.
- Items that cannot be moved safely may be refused unless a waiver is signed.
- Service may be refused for unsafe, discriminatory, disrespectful, hazardous, or unsanitary conditions.
6. Liability Limitations
- We may pursue collections for unpaid balances in accordance with Illinois statutes and regulations.
- We are not responsible for damage to owner-packed items/boxes, third-party packed items, or items packed by anyone not employed by World’s Best Movers.
- We are not liable for pre-existing damage.
- We are not responsible for damage to old, fragile, or sensitive items (including particleboard/IKEA/engineered wood/laminated furniture).
- We are not liable for electrical or mechanical damage due to unknown internal conditions.
- We are not responsible for delays caused by third parties, natural disasters, government actions, protests, or catastrophes.
- We may use additional movers or trucks if necessary for safety or compliance, which may result in additional charges.
- Limited liability: $0.30/lb per item (local) and $0.60/lb per item (long-distance).
- We reserve the right to cancel or refuse service under applicable circumstances.
- The company is liable only for its own negligence.
- We reserve the right to amend these Terms of Service at any time.
7. Insurance
The movers’ insurance policy is separate from limited liability coverage. Customers are encouraged to contact their own insurance provider to determine whether additional coverage is needed.
8. Claims
Claims for loss or damage must be filed within 30 days of delivery. The mover has 14 days to acknowledge the claim and 120 days to respond with a positive or negative resolution.
9. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
This agreement is governed by Illinois law. Any disputes shall be subject to exclusive jurisdiction in the courts of Cook County, Illinois.
10. Communications
By providing contact information, the customer consents to receive communications electronically, including emails, text messages, and phone calls. Mobile opt-in and SMS data will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing.
11. Indemnification
The customer agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the company from any claims arising from violations of these Terms of Service.
